The Tuffy Fund
The Tuffy Fund was established in memory of Tuffy, a 43 year-old quarter horse believed to be Alberta's oldest working horse. Tuffy, named the Canadian Therapeutic Horse of 2005 was much loved and worked with children and adults with disabilities until his passing in June 2007.
The Edmonton Sun kick-started the Tuffy Fund with a generous donation of $1,000. The Fund provides financial assistance for children with disabilities in low-income families so that they too, may experience the benefits of therapeutic riding.
