Walk On - The Little Bits CD

Parent of a former Little Bits rider and full time musician Gord Matthews felt so inspired by the life story of our very own Pax that he wrote a song about everybody's favorite pony. The song "Walk On" has been released on a CD featuring none other than country legend Ian Tyson. The CD has eight tracks by folk and country greats who have generously given their songs to Little Bits.

Walk On

Lyrics by Gord Matthews

When I met Pax, I was an eager young boy
He was one of six in the ring
Just my luck, I was the most in need
Of that palomino's way

I learned to ride what no one thought I could
With old Pax my trusted steed
I found my place at that pony's side
Fifteen years I held his lead

Every day he waits
To take a special rider, miles away

Walk on, little pony
There is work to be done
Walk on, gently gliding
Till the weak become strong
Walk on

The sixth of May, 1998
They said Pax you've done your time
Since the day, that the truck and trailer came
That hungry horse refused his feed

Nobody new what Pax was trying to say
If he carried on now he would die
They called the vet, he said there's nothing I can do
Then one night it dawned on me

Every day he waits
To take a special rider, miles away

Walk on, little pony
There is work to be done
Walk on, gently gliding
Till the weak become strong

Walk on... ... ... walk on
